He acts on complex, multi-party transactions, advises companies through significant capital raises and restructurings, and counsels founders and executives on the legal dimensions of building and scaling a business. Where most lawyers specialize, Jaskaran operates across the full spectrum of corporate work, bringing the same standard of advice to a founder closing a seed round as to an established company navigating a significant acquisition.
Jaskaran's approach to legal practice is shaped by a foundation that is as much commercial as it is legal. He holds a J.D. from Western University and a Master of Management with distinction from the Schulich School of Business, and has spent his career working at the point where legal counsel and business strategy converge. He understands capital structures, reads a transaction from both sides of the table, and gives advice calibrated to what a client actually needs to hear, not what is easiest to say. That combination of legal rigour and commercial literacy is what clients retain him for.
In addition to his transactional practice, Jaskaran serves as Fractional General Counsel to a select group of organizations. In that capacity, he functions as an embedded senior legal partner at the executive level, advising on governance frameworks, regulatory compliance, commercial negotiations, contractual risk, and board-level decision making. He brings the depth and continuity of in-house counsel to organizations that demand serious legal leadership without the overhead of a full-time hire. His clients in this capacity range from high-growth companies navigating their first institutional processes to mature businesses managing complex ongoing legal needs.
Jaskaran was named to York University and the Schulich School of Business's Top 30 Alumni Under 30 in 2025, recognizing outstanding young alumni making a measurable impact across Canada and beyond. He sits on multiple boards, where he contributes to governance, strategic planning, and organizational leadership, and is a member of the Impact Committee at Toronto Metropolitan University's School of Medicine, where he contributes to the fundraising direction of one of Canada's newest and most significant medical education initiatives. He is also a Director at SABA Toronto, Canada's largest equity-seeking bar association dedicated to advancing South Asian members of the legal profession, and has remained an active contributor to the legal community since receiving SABA Toronto's Student Recognition Award during his time at Western Law.
Jaskaran is fluent in English and Punjabi.
